For those who think the fun is in the journey and not just in the destination, an ATV Tour might be the perfect way to see a less travelled side of Hawaii.
Hawaii ATV Tours allow you to get down and dirty in the Hawaiian courntryside. You will take these semi-automatic All Terrain Vehicles, or ATV's, through mountain trails, forging streams and mudbanks on your way.
All the safety equipment you need, including helmets and goggles, will be provided at the time of your tour. Many companies also give you the option of using their riding pants and shirts to protect your clothes from the mud you are sure to be splashing through. All riders are required to have long pants (rented or your own) and close-toed shoes. In order to drive your own ATV you must have ID that confirms you are over the age of 16. Children between 5 and 16 can ride as passengers.
Depending on the tour you select, your guides may provide a variety of snacks or even a full picnic lunch. What you need to bring and what will be provided for you will be explained at the time that you book your tour, but as a general rule, anything you need will generally be included.
